Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 in 1967. Roberts is from the fourth generation of Roberts family who lived in Atlanta. It began with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. She inherited her father's interest in theater from a young age. As a college students in Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in several shows. He joined the military in 1953 and, while being stationed at Biloxi Mississippi, he was a part of an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the air force. In 1955, they got married and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was an undergraduate at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they left the airforce and Walter began studying at Tulane. Walter was a part of the Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio after the family relocated from Atlanta to Georgia's Decatur in the year 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple their own. In the following year, they established the Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for a period of six years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also called Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) in this time.
