Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor who is best famous for her character House in Fox's medical drama House. Raised in Wayne with a strict Jewish tradition, she moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in acting at the Tisch school of arts. But very soon, she became engaged in the city's nightclub scene, and was able to make enough headlines that she was seen by the media and while also becoming aware of the devastation of AIDS. Then, she used her experiences as well as her celebrity to write and compose the musical called Positive Me in which she was a part of. The first time she was hired, she got her first position on MTV as the presenter of Awake on the Wild Side shortly after. When Awake on the Wild Side was no longer being aired, she began acting in movies as well as on TV, starting with brief roles. Gradually, her career as an actor was growing.
